2017 Topps Baseball Card #1 is...

Today on the MLB Network it was revealed that Chicago Cubs 3rd Baseman Kris Bryant is card #1 in Topps Series One Baseball cards in 2017.

Bryant, the 2015 National League Rookie of the Year, is a terrific baseball player who helped the Cubs win their first World Series Championship since 1908 last year, and was voted the 2016 National League MVP.

Baseball fans, myself included, voted in a poll last year on who they wanted to be the #1 Topps card...I voted for Miguel Cabrera... here's the list of players you could've voted for.

Note...to my dismay, NO Detroit Tigers player has ever been card #1...ugh!

The very first Topps #1 Baseball card was Andy Pafko in 1952.

Here's a look at every Topps #1 card 1952-2016.

Series 1 Topps Baseball will be released on Wednesday morning February 1st.

  1. I'm actually kind of surprised Ortiz didn't win.

  2. how is it possible no Tiger has ever been number one? Not Greenberg or Kaline or even MIGGY?? John, it's great to have found your blog. I love the design! You can't go wrong with Bill Freehan!
