In yesterday's post I commented how Bill was plunked an American League leading 20 times...well, in 1968, the pitchers of the Junior Circuit hit him 24 times!
🎯 Always wondered why Bill didn't get a HBP card instead just a plain Walk card.
✍️ Had to do a re-write after the first post so I could get it in before midnight, as my fibromyagia decided it 2as time to flair up again.

These two specially made art cards especially the hand drawn card using the 1960 (year I was born) Topps design are so cool and I really was fortunate to have them made.
I don't remember what years these cards were made and I couldn't find either artist, Card Art Show & Cheap Seats Cards on TwitterX.

Tarik Skubal received all 30 first place votes in the 2024 Cy Young Award balloting the Baseball Writers Association of America.
🐅⚾️ Skubal joins the elite of Tigers pitchers to win the Cy Young, joining Denny McLain (1968/1969- Co- Mike Cuellar), Willie Hernandez (1984), Justin Verlander (2011), and Max Scherzer (2013).

Bill hit exactly 200 home runs in his 15 year big league career, 100 at Tiger Stadium & 100 on the road.
A very special Happy Baseball Birthday! post to honor Detroit Tigers LHP Tarik Skubal, who is celebrating turning 28.
🐅⚾️ One of the greatest seasons for a Tigers pitcher, Tarik won the American League Pitching Triple Crown, winning 1️⃣8️⃣ games, striking out 2️⃣2️⃣8️⃣ batters, and leading the league w/ a 2️⃣.3️⃣9️⃣ ERA.

A very special Happy Baseball Birthday! to former big league pitcher, Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd, who's 65 today!
⚾️ "Oil Can" has a prominent place in the ever growing Boyd Binder, second only to Matthew Boyd in the amount of cards for a player with BOYD in their name.
