Today we say Happy Baseball Birthday!  of former big league first baseman Tony Clark.

Anthony Christopher Clark  was born on June 15, 1972, in Newton, Kansas.
Clark played baseball at Christian HS in El Segundo, California, and college baseball at San Diego State.

The Tigers drafted the 6' 8'' slugger second overall in the 1990 amateur player draft.

Tony made his big league debut  at the age of 24 for the Detroit Tigers on September 3, 1995.

Tony played 15 big league seasons with the Tigers, Red Sox, Diamondbacks, Mets, Yankees, and Padres.

Clark made his mark slugging baseballs in Detroit from 1996-1999.

     1997...32 HR, 117 RBI
     1998...34 HR, 103 RBI
     1999...31 HR, 99 RBI

Tony played in one All-Star Game, in 2001, representing the Tigers.

In 1,559 big league games Tony Clark collected 1,188.base hits, 251 home runs, 233 doubles, 11 triples, with 824 RBI, batting .262 in 4,532 at bats.

Today Tony Clark is the Executive Director of the Major League Players Association.
