Tigers Card Tuesday- 2024 Topps Update Riley Greene

Tigers outfielder Riley Greene played in his first All-Star Game on July 16 2024, and, as he has many times wearingthe Olde English D, made an outstanding catch in the game.

Topps made the catch an addition to the 2024 Update Set.

             Riley Greene

He's been making great plays like this since he came up to the big leagues, and, I'm sure we'll see him make many more on his way to winning a Gold Glove Award.

Have a terrific Tuesday, and, as always, Play BALL! 🐅⚾️

Monday Mailbox- A Pair of Topps NOW

Living in a motel isn't fun.

The biggest problem over the last 6 months, or so, is battling with our old PO Box and cards that have taken forever to arrive.

Started have my wife order cards using her address at her new job, as, that's also where I get all my medicine from the VA delivered (can't trust the hotel management).

Today's mail included two Topps NOW cards that I'm very excited about.

Matthew Boyd recorded the 1000th strikeout of his career.

Riley Greene played in his 2nd consecutive All-Star Game, one of 5 Tigers to start the game.

As I've posted before, I live Topps NOW cards, they tell a day by day story of baseball history.

Do you collect Topps NOW cards?

👋 I know one Blogger who does..

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog.

Wolverine Wednesday

Not sure if I'll keep up with this idea that I've had for quite sometime now, but, let's give it ye olde college try, Go Blue!

No matter the sport, I'm hoping to post one sports card featuring a player from Michigan, from football, hockey, and hoops, to wrestling, golf, tennis, and, of course, baseball.

Let's start with a couple of  Jake Cronenworth  cards.

Football season is just a few weeks away, which will probably result in heavy pigskin card posts.

Have a great rest of your week.

Friday Facts- August 1, 2025

Where has the year gone?

We welcome the dog days of summer, August, when the separation between the good, the bad, and, the ugly, in baseball begins.

A few years ago MLB got rid of the silly trade deadline shenanigans that lasted until September, and made July 31 the final day for trades.

The Tigers added some solid relief pitchers to shore up a faltering bullpen, and, at the last minute, veteran RHO Charlie Morton.

Today's Immaculate Grid- 114.

Typing issues with bad fingers early in the morning.

Are you an Immaculate Grid player?

Mailbox- Anyway a great day when Tigers cards come in the mail.

The Tigers are in Philadelphia this weekend, which means definitely checking out  The Phillies Room.

🐅⚾️ Players for both the Tigers and Phillies include HOFers Sam Thompson and Jim Bunning, Outfielder Tito Francona, catcher/1st Base/DH John Wockenfuss, slugging outfielder Nicholas Castellanos, and, 2nd Baseman Tony Taylor.

Happy Baseball Birthday!

Gregg Jeffries

Have a great weekend!
